Another step forward for TPR by Viñales Racing at #CatalanWorldSBK in Barcelona
Isaac Viñales, TPR by Viñales Racing’s sole rider in the 2023 FIM Superbike World Championship left the latest round of the series, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with a top twenty finish and more understanding of the areas in which, as a team, they need to work in the coming races.
Viñales, who also spent the weekend meeting fans in the Fan Zone, continued with the task of providing valuable data to his technicians as the new look team continues to evolve.
With no testing before their season began, the first of two visits to Spain for WorldSBK in 2023 was the second real opportunity for TPR by Viñales Racing and Isaac to further find a direction in terms of bike feel and set-up and overall, despite two non-finishes in the weekend’s three races are satisfied with the way they are working.
The team now looks forward to the Emilia-Romagna round in three weeks, confident of further improvements.
Isaac Viñales:
“It has been a positive weekend. We have made a step forward with the technical and electronic part of the bike which will help us in the next races. I want to thank the team for the work done in Montmelo and I hope we will be closer to the front in Misano.”
Lucio Pedercini – Team Principal:
“We always knew the first round in Assen and also round two here in Catalunya would be like extended tests for us and so whilst on one hand we all want to be fighting further towards the front we accept our limitations right now and continue to work through the things we need to tick off. Isaac once again gave his best and is giving us useful information which I am confident will help us in the next races. It was nice to see so many fans in the paddock and a pleasure for us to see Isaac received by them throughout the event. I want to thank the entire team for their work. The next race is our first home race this season and it will be good to see the new TPR by Viñales Racing colours on track in Misano.”
